Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one time without having to swap out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but be careful with the spare bedroom. My Source has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of pads. In addition, the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have many characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There's a wealth of options available that include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
